PPiK
VICTORious at Wales
Rally GB
Young
PPiK Swedish
rally star
Victor Henriksson
drove to
success at
last Weekend’s
Wales Rally
GB, winning
the Fiesta
Sporting Trophy
International 2007.
On
just his first World
Rally Championship,
Victor
beat off far more
experienced drivers
by some margin on
what experts said
was one of the toughest
events for years.
Victor,
19, and co driver Mark
Walker, from Leeds,
were competing in PPiK
Allfab Fiesta ST, which
produces around 185bhp,
has a short shift gearbox
and is fully converted
for rallying with safety
harnesses and roll
cages.
On
just his third event
on UK soil, driver
Henriksson was delighted
with his performance
but knew that the conditions
were against him, “My
plan was to drive at
75% and not to push
too hard, as I knew
that conditions would
be tough. It is tempting
to go flat out, but
sometimes you have
to think carefully
about your approach.
There was a point when
I thought I’d
knocked a wheel off
and, despite three
punctures and the loss
of my brakes, I’m
really happy with the
result on my first
WRC event.”
PPiK
Marketing Manager,
Ben Hyland, knew that
the hard work and preparations
had paid off for the
team. “We
were confident that
Victor and Mark had
a great chance of proving
their performance at
this event, albeit
just their second rally
together. Victor drove
with some confidence
and PPiK are delighted
to be involved with
the sport of rallying
at such a high level,
especially with such
a young talented professional
like Victor.”
Victor
now has the attention
of the world’s
media and rally teams
as he proves himself
to be a genuine star
for the future. PPiK
welcome any commercial
organisations looking
to enhance brand appeal
and awareness via the
popular medium of rally
car sponsorship & advertising.
