PPiK Sponsor Record Breaking Swedish Rally Driver

Victor Henriksson is a big talent for the future and already working with World Rally Championship winning team, M Sport Ford, based in Cumbria. PPiK have backed the young 19-year-old Swede on his quest to become a top name in British and World Rallying.

Henriksson's first UK event was back in July where PPiK gave him the opportunity to drive the Fiesta ST. He finished an impressive 1st in Class, 1st 2WD car and 21st overall.

PPiK recently announced the news that Victor will be entered in the 2007 Wales Rally GB, taking part in the FiestaSporting Trophy International championship.

This is an extremely high profile event and will be a test for Victor along with new co-driver, Mark Walker from the Allfab Rally Team.

The pair were competing at the Malton Stages Rally on November 4th, again in the PPiK Fiesta (see picture top of page). Some fantastic driving saw them climb to the top, leading class and 2WD car. Bad luck and mechanical failure (differential) put them out of the Rally but gave the whole team great confidence as preparation for Wales Rally GB at the end of November.

"We were looking forward to a repeat of Swansea Bay where Victor finished first 2wd, but it was not to be" commented David Dobson of PPiK Leeds, Victor's sponsor. "We are pleased with progress however, and Victor is now extremely confident with the performance of the car and working relationship with new co-driver Mark."

Henriksson adapted well to the UK stages and the change in surface compared with the smooth gravel found in Sweden. Henriksson explains, "This event was more of a test session, but all through the stages the car felt good and we were able to push harder with some quick times."

PPiK's David Dobson finishes, "The PPiK Allfab team will now continue the hard work on preparation for our entry in the FSTi championship at Wales Rally GB at the end of November, where Henriksson will compete in his first WRC event and third competitive rally in this country."

We will have more news on Wales Rally GB on this site.
